    Abdullah bin Zayed meets with Japanese FM to discuss strategic relations

    H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received Yoshimasa Hayashi, Foreign Minister of Japan in Abu Dhabi. Both sides discussed ways to boost joint cooperation prospects in various fields and how to strengthen strategic relations between their countries.

    Abdullah bin Zayed meets with Japanese FM to discuss strategic relationsDuring the meeting, the two sides discussed regional and international issues, including the situation in Ukraine and the need for a national solution. They also reviewed issues of mutual interest, as well as regional and international developments. As a consequence of this crisis, the two ministers discussed efforts to achieve stability and balance on the international energy and commodities markets.

    Sheikh Abdullah and Minister Hayashi also discussed Japan’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai and the role it will play in spurring greater mutual cooperation between the two countries. The two sides also discussed Osaka’s preparations for the next World Expo, scheduled for Yumeshima Island in Osaka, Japan, from 13th April to 13th October 2025. This will be Osaka’s third World Expo after hosting two editions in 1970 and 1990.

    In his remarks, Minister Hayashi expressed Japan’s interest in strengthening strategic ties with the UAE in various domains, commending the excellent organization of Expo 2020 Dubai and its remarkable success in holding this international event despite challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
